Meteor Crater Post Cards
Since most views show the crater from the air and in basically the same position I have included some unusual views of the crater and associated cards.
1) E4277 RP Occasionally this one comes with a piece of weathered meteorite "shale" attached. The white circle is where the specimen is attached.

2) C-391 RP Nice early view of the crater floor.

3) Unnumbered RP & Chrome Two different views of the same model of the cross section of the pit. If you look close at these two views you can see they were taken at different times and are not the same card as one might first suspect. This was in the original visitors center at MC as it shows the large meteoric body that was supposed to be buried at the bottom.

4) Unnumbered RP Frashers I like this card as it has a large white block on the bottom third of the card.

5) Unnumbered RP Just a neat unusual view of the floor of the crater.

6) Unnumbered Frashers RP Showing the old silica mine near the rim of the crater. It is located almost directly across the crater from the current visitors center. One of my favorites as I have a BS in Mining Engineering.

7) Linen? May 1928 - July 1930 This is a cool card showing a TAT (Transcontinental Air Transport) Ford Tri motor airplane flying over MC. My guess is it is actually just a made up card as the plane looks more like a cartoon. Another cool TAT site

8) Linen I like this card because it uses the Meteorite Mountain name instead of Meteor Crater.

9) Linen Meriden Gravure Company 1940's I just find this view to be fascinating as I wonder why it ever made it on a post card. No one could tell what it is an image of unless they read the text on the back. Note the two winding trails used to gain access to the floor. This one is cancelled June '47.

10) Linen Robertson's News Stand by The Albertype Co, Brooklyn NY. I like this one due to the long shadow in the pit.

11) Cool set of cards A-150 & A152...just wonder if there is a A-151 card. I would guess there is one. Send me an image if you have it.

12) Same image as #5 above but has different text. Hard to read the text on this one but says "Meteor Crater ???? ft deep ??? ft deep" Cancelled July 1934
